Events at Rainfords - What's on at the farm
Throughout the Autumn and Christmas season we have lots happening on the farm. Keep an eye on the Events Page and follow our socials for what's on. From our Opening Weekend Festival to our Enchanted Picnics in the Trees, Wreath Workshops, Pumpkin Painting and lots in between. It's going to be a busy season at Rainford's Farm and Christmas Trees!

OPENING WEEKEND ππ΅
The farm OPENS for the season on 28th September. Join us for our Pumpkin Season Opening Weekend as we kick off the 2024 season! The bar will be open, they'll be live music, hay bales, pumpkin picking, artisan stalls, hot food and drinks, cakes and goodies, crafts, games, photo ops and lots of fun to be had!
The Opening Weekend is FREE ENTRY, no tickets required.

OKTOBERFEST ON THE FARM πΊ
The Apres Tree Bar will have beer on tap and steins overflowing as we celebrate Oktoberfest all week long at the farm. When you have finished wandering amongst the pumpkins, head inside for a cold beer or two!
October
October is one of our busiest months with plenty happening on the farm. As always there will be pumpkins to pick everyday on the farm throughout October however there is a number of autumn and Halloween events too.
1st October - 31st October - various times throughout the day
WHO KILLED JOHN JACK RAINFORD? A Whodunnit Trail ππ
Put your wellies on for a spooky welly walk with a difference! Head out amongst the trees and help us solve a murder mystery like no other. Follow the trail clues and work out the suspect and the weapon in the mystery of who killed farmer, John Jack Rainford back in the Autumn of 1958. To this day, it remains a mystery, can you be the one to finally crack the case?
The trail should take about 45 mins to complete and is outdoors amongst our fir trees so dress for the autumn weather.
All children will receive a medal on returning with the correct answers and solving the mystery!
Monday 28th - Wednesday 30th October - 11am and 1pm
WHO KILLED JOHN JACK RAINFORD? An INTERACTIVE Whodunnit Trail ππ
For 3 DAYS ONLY during October half term, join the cast of the Bookworm Players Theatre Company as they guide you along the Whodunnit Trail. Meet our friendly Detective who will set the scene as you enter the trees. You'll bump into scarecrows along the way who may be able to help you work out the clues... or will they hinder! A fun, interactive, guided trail taking the mystery of 'Who killed John Jack Rainford?' to the next level! We are so excited for this one!
Tickets are extremely limited for the 6 guided trails across half term, so please book early to avoid disappointment!

SPOOKY PICNIC IN THE TREES π»π²
After selling out last Christmas, our Picnic in the Trees events are back with a spooky, autumnal twist. Collect your picnic from the Apres Tree Cafe in the barn and head out through the pumpkins and in amongst the trees to enjoy your sweet and savoury treats.
For a limited time, book a Picnic in the Trees slot and receive a free 'Who Killed John Jack Rainford? A Whodunnit Trail' for the whole family to complete once you have finished your picnic. Will you be able to finish the cake and solve the clues?
Monday 28th October - 6pm - 8pm
FLORAL PUMPKIN ARRANGEMENT WORKSHOP ππ
Join us for an autumnal floral pumpkin workshop hosted by our talented in house florist and floristry teacher Sharon.
During a 2 hour workshop, you will follow a step by step tutorial to create a stunning pumpkin centrepiece.
Everything you need is provided - we use seasonal, fresh, autumnal flowers and foliage along with pumpkins grown right on the farm. A great evening at the farm!
Ticket includes all you need to make your pumpkin centrepiece plus a Pumpkin Spiced Latte or another hot drink of your choice, or a Hot Mulled Apple Cider or a glass of Lunetta Prosecco.

PUMPKIN PATCH FARM TOTS π¨π
From pumpkin finger painting to themed weekly autumnal and halloweeny Storytime sessions, plus a designated toddler pumpkin patch, there is lots going on at the farm this season for you and your little ones. We even having toddler sized wheelbarrows too!
November

ENCHANTED PICNIC IN THE TREESπ²β¨
After proving SO popular last year we are delighting to be running our Enchanted Picnic in the Trees again! The top question we have been getting asked since January is "are we doing the picnics again?" Yes we are!
A really magical experience. Follow the tree lined trail and head out amongst the growing christmas trees. You will need to find the candy cane taper high over a tree to locate a table and when you do you will be immersed amongst the trees.
We provide the picnic boxes, you can bring a blanket to get cosy at your table in the trees.
Then take all the time you want to walk through the trees. If you spot 'the one' you can tag it! It will be yours to either take home that day, we'll freshly cut it for you. Or you can choose a date in the future to collect your tree.

FRESH WREATH MAKING WORKSHOPS ππ₯
A lovely wreath making workshop using fresh fir foliage from the trees here at the farm. Led by our in house floristry teacher Sharon. We'll provide all the materials you need, plus a variety of fresh foliage and festive embellishments.
Our Wreath Workshops are ran as small groups so places for each workshop are limited. Book early to avoid disappointment, especially if you would like to book on as a small group. The fir wreath bases are pre made for you making this workshop perfect for beginners looking to make a beautiful, festive door wreath.
Your ticket includes everything you will need to made a wreath plus a mince pie, a hot chocolate or another hot drink of your choice, or a mulled wine or a glass of Lunetta prosecco from the Apres Tree Bar.
