Mixed Hardwood

A popular firewood with a steady flame and dependable heat. Our ash options are available in selected pack and load sizes while stocks allow.
Birch
The most popular, Birch lights readily and gives a bright, lively flame. It is useful for establishing a fire and for customers who enjoy a more visible flame pattern.

Dense oak generally takes longer to establish but can provide a slower, steadier burn once the fire is hot. Use dry kindling and good airflow when lighting it.

Firewood can be difficult to compare when one supplier talks about bags, another talks about crates and somebody else talks about weight. We describe our products by their actual format and stated volume or quantity wherever that information is available.

For smaller orders, the delivery charge depends on your address, basket and the products selected and will be shown at checkout.
Please tell us about narrow lanes, restricted vehicle access, steps, gravel, steep slopes or where a pallet cannot be left safely. Standard delivery does not automatically include carrying or stacking logs. Where our separate stacking service is available, it must be added to a suitable log order.
Store Your Logs Properly
Keep firewood raised from the ground in a dry place with plenty of airflow. Cover the top from direct rain but leave the sides ventilated. Fully wrapping logs in plastic can trap condensation and undo the work that went into drying them.
If a bag or pallet arrives with an outer cover, treat it as transport protection unless the product page specifically says it is suitable for long-term outdoor storage.
Burning Wood Responsibly
Use the fuel specified by your appliance manufacturer and make sure your chimney or flue is maintained appropriately. Rules can differ in smoke-control areas, and not every fuel is suitable for every stove, fireplace or outdoor appliance.
We only display moisture and drying information when it has been confirmed for the individual product. Rainfords supply kiln dried and seasoned wood below 20% moisture content, If you need a particular specification, check the product page or ask us before ordering.
